ST BREWARD was full of festive cheer when villagers celebrated the switch-on of the Christmas lights on Monday, November 30.
It seemed the entire village turned out for the event, along with the St Breward Silver Band leading residents in the singing of traditional carols.
The lights were switched on by the St Breward fairy queen Ellie and her attendants Christina, Grace and Tom.
Also paying a visit was Father Christmas, who was seen by many excited youngsters in his grotto.
Rebbeca Storr, a member of the organising committee, said the event went well, adding: “It was a really good night and a good turnout. Santa arrived in a horse and cart for the first time and that caused quite a stir, there were queues of children waiting to see him. Many said it was the best switch-on yet.”
