PLANS for one of the largest wind farms in Cornwall, which could generate power to around 13,500 homes have been submitted.
The proposal for eleven 125-metre wind turbines spanning five parishes — Week St Mary, Jacobstow, Warbstow, North Petherwin and Whitstone — was submitted to Cornwall Council last Thursday.
Renewable energy developer Good Energy's initial plan for a mixed renewable energy site was revealed at a consultation event in the summer of 2012.
In January 2013, the developer received significant opposition from residents when it announced plans for 14 wind turbines and a 75-acre solar farm.
More than 200 people were against the scheme, according to a survey carried out by opposition group Communities Against Rural Exploitation (CARE).
