The Year 5 at Holsworthy Primary School had their own election last week on May 6. As part of their literacy work they wrote persuasive manifestos and delivered them to the class and their headteacher, Mr Muller. The children made rosettes and looked at percentages and data based on recent poll results. A spokesman said: "They voted in our polling station at the end of the day. Interestingly the Conservative Party won our election but not with the majority of 17 that was needed. After much discussion an alliance was formed with the Liberal Democrats." Annie Johns said: "I learnt that politics is a lot more interesting than I thought." The leaders of the parties, all democratically elected by their peers were Annie Johns, Adam Shadrick, Albert Shepherd and Milan Crompton.
