SUNDAY was Captains Drive-In Competition at Launceston Golf Club, the format being teams of 3 playing yellow ball Stableford for both Ladies and Gents, 112 entered and even though the day was dominated by a strong breeze and some fine rain, some remarkable team scores were achieved.

The Competition was followed by the tradition of both the Captain and Lady Captain using an 80 year old hickory shafted club to drive up the first fairway, with members guessing where the ball may end up. With the Lady Captain Elaine Thomas out driving the Club Captain Dave Downing, to loud cheers and applause.

If that was not enough, we held a belated Christmas Draw, organised by our professional John Tozer.

On the day discounting the 12th, 12 two's were achieved resulting in winning 8 balls each.

For the results, see this week's edition of the 'Post'.
