RECEPTION, Year 1 and Year 2 children from St Petroc’s School, Bude enjoyed an educational visit to Launceston Castle — a motte and bailey Norman castle — recently.
The children spent the morning climbing the steps up to the keep and to the tower learning about how the castle was used and by whom.
Mrs Sue Cuff, reception teacher, said: “The children looked down from the viewpoint overlooking the town and imagined defending the castle and protecting the Lord and Lady with bows and arrows.
“It really was a very interesting day out and reinforced what the children had been learning inside the classroom.”
