A CHILDREN’S choir was so popular when they sang at Launceston Hospital in 2018 that they were back by popular demand this year!

Pupils from St Catherine’s Primary School in the town brought Christmas cheer to the patients at Launceston Hospital on Thursday, December 19, when they came in to sing carols and to hand out presents to all the patients. The children aged seven to 11 were on hand with music teacher Mrs Warner. The students were certainly in fine voice, with a couple of them performing solos.

Pam Parnell, chairman of Launceston League of Friends, said: “It is so lovely to have St Catherine’s School join us again this year for this service at the hospital.

“The children have done amazingly well to have learnt a range of carols, with some new takes on old favourites, which went down well with our audience.”

One pupil, said: “It was nice to sing to those that were on the ward and watch beaming smiles form on their faces.”

A League of Friends spokesperson said: “It was a wonderful evening for all involved and thank you parents for bringing your children along. We’re sure that the children brightened up many people’s day.”
