A BIG breakfast hosted in Halwill Parish Hall on Saturday, February 1, by Scallywags Pre-School, raised more than £700.

The Scallywags expressed their thanks to everyone for their help and support in raising such a fantastic sum.

Rebecca Potter, chair of Scallywags committee, speaking on behalf of the management committee, said: “We served a fantastic 101 breakfasts and raised £744! We would like to thank Orchard Hen Farm, Evergreen Farm, Halwill Village Shop and Cornish Farmhouse Bacon for their kind donations to help us raise such an incredible amount.

“As a charity pre-school, the volunteer committee work hard to raise money to supplement government funding which does not cover necessary expenses. We arrange fun events for the community to get involved in and really appreciate everyone’s support. We will be having an Easter Egg Hunt on March 27, and a Ladies Fashion Night on Saturday, April 18 — look out for details!”

Scallywags Pre-School meet at the Jubilee Suite in the parish hall, Monday to Friday, from 9.15am to 1.15pm, with full and half day sessions available for children aged two to five years.
