The first Santa Run was held at Stratton Primary School on the last day of their autumn term. All the children in the school took part (almost 350) and received a special Santa Run medal.
Headteacher Penny Simpson said: “The children, staff and parents took part in the run and many dressed for the occasion. I was proud of the way all the children took part and enjoyed a fun way together to end the term.”
The school council helped to organise the run as the start of a fundraising project, to turn their field track into a multi-purpose all-weather track for children to use throughout the year.
Stratton Primary School would also like to be able to make the track available to the local community and to local groups, in the evenings and at weekends.
