OCTOBER 10 was World Mental Health Day, and as part of that the charity Young Minds organised an event known as ‘Hello Yellow’, which pupils at Otterham Community Primary School took part in.

The event was created to raise awareness of childhood mental health and actively encourages children and adults to talk about their feelings, thoughts and emotions. By sharing their experiences children can discover that they are not alone, that there is help available and support to be accessed. It gives young people ‘a voice’.

Otterham CP School, along with thousands of other schools, businesses and organisations, wore yellow in an attempt to raise vital funds for the Young Minds charity.

By wearing yellow and bringing in a small donation, the children of Otterham CP School raised a magnificent £82 and definitely brought a lot of sunshine to what otherwise would have been a rather rainy day.
