THE Holsworthy detachment of Devon Army Cadet Force (ACF) has received donations from local organisations.

The Ashwater show committee made a donation following the continued support given by the detachment in helping to organise car parking at the event held in August.

Holsworthy Bowling Club chose the detachment as being a local good cause to support.

The cheques were received by Platoon Serjeant Kieran Fraser during a recent training evening.

Detachment commander Lt Jim Harvey added: “I would like to thank both organisations for their generosity. The donations will be used to purchase training equipment or support cadets with activity subsidies.”

There’s lots on offer to young people from 12 years of age who choose the ACF as their hobby and the Holsworthy detachment is now looking to recruit new members.
