Back in the autumn, Altarnun Primary School’s families and friends were busy collecting items of clothing, bedding, shoes, soft toys, etc for their Bags To School campaign.

Organisers had a collection point at Maunder & Sons as well as Sleeps in Camelford for people to donate items. The group were completely overwhelmed with donations of items and are very thankful to Launceston and Camelford for getting behind them and supporting the ‘small but mighty’ primary school.

This year the school had to request two vans to come and collect the bags as it was too much for one!

In total, the effort raised a massive £663 from the weight collected and Kerrie Ham (Friends of Altarnun School Association) has sold £416 of items on top of that – taking the total so far to £1,079.

Kerrie is planning on holding a new/nearly new clothes sale along with a coffee morning in the not to distant future – when COVID allows, to raise more money from items she picked out, this way it will raise a lot more funds for the school. More details will follow nearer to the time.

Kerrie added: “Once again on behalf of Altarnun Primary School I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who kindly contributed.”
