A PROPOSED eco-driven development at a Bude holiday park will have long standing benefits to the town, according to its owner.
Bude-Stratton Town Council's planning committee recently recommended approval of an application made by the Colwills at Wooda Farm Holiday Park that would see 20 eco lodges, a biomass plant house and an array of solar panels erected — the final decision rests with Cornwall Council.
Town councillors said they could see no reason to oppose the application, with concerns over the potential visual impact of any development alleviated by the high hedges that surround the site.
Cllr Lea Deely said: "You can't see much of it — my inclination is they're good employers, they employ local people, they're trying to extend throughout the year."
Cllr Brian Dixon added: "They do things really well, and it's eco-friendly. I can't see a problem with this at all — it's good for the area."
