AN EASTER bunny and its volunteer friends brought easter joy to the children of Holsworthy across the weekend.

The traditional Easter egg giveaway came to the town once again, with joy being spread far and wide across a tour across multiple locations.

An individual dressed as the Easter bunny toured Holsworthy, giving Easter eggs to the town’s youth, aided and abetted by a group of volunteers from Holsworthy Mutual Aid, who were also suitably dressed for the occasion.

Holsworthy Mutual aid is a group set up to support residents during the coronavirus pandemic, and has continued operating since the cessation of restrictions to continue bringing support and joy to the town.

The Easter eggs were generously donated by Moo Free Chocolates, a Holsworthy based confectionery maker which specialises in making dairy-free, vegan chocolate products.

The giveaway resulted as part of a tradition in the town of generosity during festive occasions, coming after another Holsworthy Mutual Aid organised event, held at Christmas, saw its children visited by Father Christmas.

Mayor of Holsworthy Cllr Nigel Kenneally told residents: “That's a wrap for this year's Easter bunny run. A massive thank you must go to Moo Free Chocolates for once again being so generous. Also, a big thank you to all the volunteers who helped today.”
