THE Coads Green WI had an early Christmas present of an extra seasonal craft evening this month.

On Wednesday, November 8, Alison Gribble led an evening demonstration on how to make a decorative Christmas tree by building a structure from bottle tops covered in festive fabrics.

The meeting was well attended with Alison providing refreshments, which included her tasty homemade biscuits.

Members met at the Cowslip Workshops, near Launceston, the following Wednesday, where Jo Colwill led the evening, showing how to create a snowman in a Christmas setting in a box. It was another enjoyable occasion where members had the pleasure of taking away their completed arrangements. A delicious supper rounded off the night.

President Linda Willan presented a birthday posy to Daphne Tucker and reminded everyone of the North Hill ‘Christmas Tree Festival’ in December and the open evening at the Stoke Climsland WI on January 9, when the topic will be ‘Silver Greyhounds’. Arrangments were discussed for the WI village Christmas party on Friday, December 9.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 13, at 7.30pm in the chapel parlour at Coads Green when Mary Cole, will be holding a talk on the ‘History of Ladies’ Underwear’.
