THE Grade II listed Georgian townhouse, the Eagle House in Launceston, is up for sale.
Once used as a prison for the Napoleonic Naval Officers, it is thought that they were responsible for the French Eagles that stand magnificently on the gate pillars.
The house includes rooms, such as a drawing room, sitting room, dining room and hallway, along with 15 bedrooms and bathrooms.
Although its purpose has been as a hotel for many years, the Eagle House has recently been granted planning permission to change from a hotel to a single residential dwelling by Cornwall Council.
It has gone on the market at £675,000.
