It seemed just like a normal Wednesday afternoon in Ross-on-Wye for the bin men parked near to the Market House who were taking a break during their rounds in the town. That was until Andrew Wheeler and Peter Elliott spotted a member of Superdrug staff chasing a man carrying a bag in Broad Street up towards the Market Place.

The daring duo immediately swung into action and drove along New Street and into Edde Cross Street, where they saw that the man had been chased into Morley Square. They jumped out of the bin lorry and assisted Victoria Jones, the store manager from Superdrug until the police arrived.

The man was arrested on Wednesday, but has since been bailed.

Victoria told the Ross Gazette:?"I saw a man filling a gift box with items of stock and asked him what he was doing. He started to run, so I chased after him."
