FRIENDS, Chris Uren and Peter Grout, recently embarked on a cycle from Land’s End to Launceston, in order to raise money for two charities close to their hearts.
The pair cycled on a tandem bike, travelling from Land’s End to Launceston, from Friday, May 19 to Saturday, May 20.
However, just a couple of months ago, neither had ridden a bike since childhood.
Both Chris and Peter have medical conditions, which has made the challenge greater, but were determined to raise money for Parkinson’s UK and Diabetes UK. It was always completing the journey that was important, not the time it took.
Chris and Peter have managed to raise over £2,000 to date, and have set up a Just Giving page for ‘Two Bums on a Bike — Chris Uren’ for anyone wishing to contribute and donate.
Grateful thanks have been extended to Mike King for his commitment as support crew throughout the trip; Creative Design at Newport for the van advertising and logo; Darren at South Petherwin Cycles, and to all their friends, family and colleagues for generous donations.
