ON Thursday, April 20, the Dunheved Flower and Garden Group had a coach outing to Pencarrow House and Gardens, near Bodmin.

The gardens were beautiful with azaleas, magnolias and rhododendrons in bloom and great expanses of bluebell woodland.

The weather was perfect to stroll through the extensive grounds and to study the flora and bird life.

A very informative guided tour of Pencarrow House was much appreciated and the excellent refreshments were enjoyed by all.

The group were made extremely welcome and said they would highly recommend this property as a lovely and interesting place to visit.

The next group outing will be to Wick Farm Gardens, Cookbury, near Holsworthy, on Thursday, May 18. This is an NGS garden open for charity and is an afternoon visit.
