CAMELFORD Young Farmers' Club (YFC) held its annual dung run in aid of the Sunrise Appeal, for the oncology unit at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro on February 13.

The club divided into four groups and visited Camelford, Boscastle, Tintagel, Delabole and St Teath.

The rain that fell during the day did not dampen spirits and members managed to raise over £770 for the charity. They would like to thank, on behalf of the club, everyone that kindly donated.

This follows on from the success the club had only a few weeks ago, having won the county entertainments and cabaret final and being picked to join other clubs from all around Cornwall to be in the county team. They will be performing at the South West area competition on Sunday, March 13 in the Hall for Cornwall.

The club is also hosting a quiz night on Friday, February 25 at The Wilsey Down, Hallworthy. Teams are to consist of no more than six participants at £2 per person, and there is to be a prize raffle.

Camelford YFC also have a fun filled programme this year; a talk from an armed forces representative, an inter-club challenge, a visit to Bodmin Jail and to Roger Young's, Saltash, are all coming up soon.

If anyone would like further details on any upcoming events, or are interested in joining the club, please contact Jenni Carthew on 07814 303972.
