CAMELFORD Young Farmers donned their hi-vis vests, wellies and waterproofs for what turned out to be a very wet but extremely successful dung run last Sunday (February 100.

Camelford Young Farmers' Club (CYFC) started its annual 'dung run' over 20 years ago. It often raises £600 to £800 but hasn't broken the £1,000 barrier for a few years. This money is donated to charity and this year, the club chose Cancer Research as its designated charity.

CYFC get the bags and dung donated, normally from a member's family, and use one of their club evenings to bag the dung.

"It was a great turnout this year to bag the dung," said current chairwoman Debbie Cornelius, "with around 25 members giving up their evening to help out. We bag over 400 bags of dung and our members do realise that many hands make light work."
