OVER the last few weeks Launceston Foodbank has been approached by increasing numbers of individuals and families in crisis.
Some have gone direct to the Foodbank, the majority have received a voucher from an agency partnering the Foodbank. In every case, they have received food, and in many they have also been given crockery, cutlery, towels and bedding. Now the food stocks in the Foodbank are running very low.
Rachael Collard, the Foodbank Manager said: "We are pleased to help these people in real need, that is why we are here. We are grateful to Curves, Kensey Foods, and Launceston College who have had special efforts to collect food for us recently, and those churches which collect each week, but because the need is growing we are at present giving out more food than is coming in."
