PRINCE Charles is selling a former quarry with 45 acres of land in Trebarwith Valley. The site includes a waterfall and refurbished and preserved Woolf Engine House, all sited within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The listed engine house, which would have hauled slate as well as pumping water away, is the only one preserved in North Cornwall and dates back to c1870, having been worked for approximately 20 years. Clive Emson auctioneers, who are marketing the Duchy of Cornwall site, said: "Apart from the obvious appeal to ramblers and dog walkers, the property may have the potential for a variety of alternative uses." The site is expected to go up for auction on September 18, with a guide price of £40,000 to £50,000.
