PEOPLE with learning disabilities and their carers and families are being invited to attend drop in sessions which are being held in one stop shops across the county, including at Bude.

The joint Cornwall Council and Cornwall Partnership Trust learning disability service is introducing the new monthly drop in sessions in the one stop shops including Bude from the beginning of May to provide people with learning disabilities with information about council services and how to access them.

The Bude drop in sessions, which will be held at the Bude Library and one stop shops at The Wharf, will begin on Wednesday, May 6 and will take place between 2pm and 4pm. Future sessions will take place on the first Wednesday of each month.

Nick Fripp, Cornwall Council and Cornwall Partnership Trust's Head of Operational Transformation for Learning Disability Services, said he was exited at the new development and hopes as many people with learning disabilities and their families and carers as possible will come along.

"One stop shops provide a place for people in Cornwall to find out about services, support and opportunities in their communities" he said.

"This project will give people the chance to get advice, ask questions and offer feedback to specialist learning disability staff. It will also help the regular staff in one stop shops to develop their knowledge of what is available for people with learning disabilities and their families in Cornwall."
