THE END of 2012 has seen some changes at Launceston Solicitors, Peters Langsford Davies.
The firm said goodbye to Mrs Gwen Furse, who has kept the Westgate building spotlessly clean for the past 41 years. So thorough is her cleaning, that a number of the brass doorknobs have had to be replaced, as the old ones have worn away by years of diligent polishing with the Brasso.
"Over that time the legal practice has changed dramatically, but so too has life in the office. Mrs Furse's predecessor retired in her 80s, when she still came into the office twice a day; in the morning to lay the fires and in the evening to clean," said partner, Helen Davies.
