A NORTH Cornwall Methodist chapel is set to close this weekend, writes Amy Dennis. Copthorne Methodist chapel, near North Petherwin, will see its final service on June 29. The Launceston area Methodist Church was built in 1837 as a Wesleyan Association Chapel. In 1907 it linked with the Bible Christian Church and the Methodist New Connexion to form a United Methodist Church. Later in 1932 it joined with the Wesleyan Church to form the Methodist Church that stands there today. The Rev Malcolm Jones, who has been involved with the chapel for around four years, said he only regularly sees around three to four people attend.
