A COUPLE of women from Camelford are putting together a collection of packages to hand out to homeless people on the streets when they are out and about.
The duo — Trina White and Jill Williams — are collecting hats, scarves and gloves to keep in their vehicles as ‘packs’. If they find themselves in a location where they spot a homeless person, they will distribute a pack to the individual.
This comes after Trina found herself shopping in Truro city centre recently. She saw a homeless man on the street and was astounded by the number of people walking by.
Jill said: “Hats, scarves and gloves are such small items to pop in a bag and keep in the car. I thought it would be a nice idea to keep a few bags with me and others, to give to any homeless people that look like they need them to keep warm.
“It’s just a small gesture to show some of us do care, without judging them for whatever reason they are on the streets.”
People willing to donate these items to keep people on the streets warm can drop off donations to 10 Valley Truckle opposite Camelot Garage.
