THE Bude Canal Trust held its annual open day recently at Pancrasweek Parish Hall.

The trust owns a five-mile length of the historic canal running south of Lower Tamar Lake.

It is committed to maintaining and enhancing the heritage and wildlife value of this length of the canal, and to maintaining public access and improving information provision.

At the open day the trust received a number of donations towards continuing its work.

A spokesman for the trust said: The trust is extremely grateful to all who made these generous donations, all of which will be used for the maintenance and improvement of this important historic feature.
