PORT Isaac’s lifeboat was called to service recently, following reports of a dog falling over a cliff in the village.
The lifeboat responded to a dog over the cliff by the New Road car park, along with Boscastle Coastguard, on Friday, March 31.
The young spaniel managed to reach some rocks in a cave after falling down the cliff, and the boat was brought alongside, following being spotted by a member of the Port Isaac crew.
The dog was safely recovered, and was soon returned to ‘extremely grateful’ owners. Although safe, the dog suffered a traumatising experience and was immediately taken to the vets for a check up.
