THE Dunheved Road Residents' Association (DRRA) has appealed to Launceston Town Council for its support towards a community centre in Hendra House.
Les Kennedy, chairman of DRRA and Simon Dart, vice chairman attended the town council meeting on Tuesday, September 18.
The group needs public support for its acquisition of Hendra House on Dunheved Road, which is currently on the property market, so that services are kept in the town.
The building is under dual ownership with Cornwall Council and the Courts of Justice, though the latter owns offices only accessible through the council's entrance.
The DRRA wish to transform the building into a community centre, with possible residential dwellings upstairs.
