PLANS that will shape the future of Holsworthy and surrounding parishes are to be submitted to the Government.

The final consultation on the North Devon and Torridge Local Plan has come to an end.

The Local Plan sets out how both districts will develop up to 2031, including how many new houses, if any, and where they will be positioned in Holsworthy and surrounding areas. It also includes business development areas.

The Local Plan has been available to public for their final say over the last six weeks. The next step is to submit the plan to the Secretary of State with the comments received to be considered at a public examination later this year.

Planning Manager at Torridge District Council, David Green, said: "Having concluded the final round of consultation we will now be reviewing the feedback received before preparing the plan for submission to the Secretary of State later this year. We would also like to thank everyone for taking the time to get involved and have their say."

Chief Planning Officer at North Devon Council, Mike Kelly said: "I would like to thank everyone across both districts who has taken the time to comment on the changes to the proposed plan.

"It's been important that we receive as much feedback as possible on the changes, so that we know exactly what people think the area does and does not need."
