RESIDENTS in the South West have voted Fern Cottage in Port Isaac from the hit ITV show, Doc Martin, as their most wanted home, according to a recent survey.

The two-bedroom detached stone property in Port Isaac was chosen as the perfect home by a quarter of local residents.

The property, which is also the surgery for the famous TV doctor, boasts stunning views overlooking the harbour and out to the Atlantic.

The quaint Cornish cottage took the number one spot — beating other famous properties including the Geordie Shore house and Buckingham Palace.

Kirrin Cottage from the Famous Five books by Enid Blyton came a close second in the poll. The fictional property, which is home to George and her family in the series of much-loved children’s books, was chosen as the perfect home by one in five local residents, it has emerged.

Although it’s been more than 40 years since Felicity Kendal and Richard Briers starred as Tom and Barbara Good in The Good Life on BBC One, the home of the couple still has an impact.

The property came third in the poll of famous properties, with 13 per cent of people choosing the suburban property in Northwood as their ideal home.
