AFTER recent weeks of unfortunate defeats Morwenstow started this game with more vigour and energy, writes Anna Francis.

A fairly even start to the game, the greens played with the wind behind them, both sides tried to create chances but it was the greens who opened the scoring after 25 minutes when 'keeper Aaron Gregory's kick found Djamel Bousahla to run through and score.

After a further two minutes the 'keeper's kick found Ashley Thomas to run through and score an almost identical goal.

With Morwenstow now firmly in control, it was only a matter of time before the third goal was scored by Djamel Bousahla after a through ball from Keith Cornish.

Before the break, Lanreath were unlucky not to pull a goal back when Dan Lawrence hit the angle of the post and crossbar.

The second half saw the home team try and take command playing with the wind advantage and pulled a goal back in the 55th minute when Johnny Collins headed in a Lawrence cross.

It was Morwenstow's desire to have their first win in six games that kept the players eager for the three points. Morwenstow's defenders were not going to give up easily and 'keeper Aaron Gregory pulled off a couple of point blank saves.

In the 80th minute Paul Sluggett's good work in the middle resulted in a through ball to Jordan Dunn who slotted the ball in the bottom right corner. Two minutes later Djamel Bousahla completed the scoring and his hat-trick with a long run from halfway.

A well deserved and long awaited three points for the greens.
