THE community all did their bit in Egloskerry, getting involved recently with the Big Egloskerry Breakfasts.
Taking place on Saturday, March 19, the Egloskerry Village Hall Committee held the event, serving mouth-watering breakfasts from 9am until 11.30am, in order to raise funds for the village hall.
Several people sat after the event and chatted, illustrating the great amount of community spirit within the village.
Phyllis Aldridge and Pam Griffiths were in charge of cooking the vast amount of delicious food, with Ann Pennington providing tea, coffee and toast to accompany the big breakfasts.
Dawn Fenn and Denise Perring took care of all of the orders and delivered the meals to the customers.
Egloskerry Village Hall Committee often hold many events during the year to raise funds for the hall; last year, they held a spring lunch, a scarecrow competition and a Christmas fayre. This is something they hope to continue with in the future.
It is estimated that £236 was raised for the village hall funds, an excellent achievement for the community.
