THE Bude Community Network Panel meeting took place on Monday evening. Among the subjects discussed were how the Cornwall Local Plan can benefit Bude, if the area requires a new rural transport service and how the local devolution fund should be used.

The meeting welcomed Cllr Edwina Hannaford and Phil Mason who explained to the meeting how the Cornwall Local Plan will benefit the area, claiming it is ‘heading in the right direction, but there’s always room for improvement’.

Following this, Martin Prentice from the Holsworthy Rural Community Transport Association, gave an insightful talk on the work that the Holsworthy Rural Transport service offers.

To finish the evening meeting, Chris Sims, the community link officer for Bude, held a session for the group to discuss how the local devolution fund should be used in the community.

Having been allocated the sum of £19,772, the network panel discussed the various applications from parishes and one from Bude and Stratton, and decided to keep the fund closed for future consideration.
