MORE than a hundred people visited one of Launceston's ancient historic sites on Saturday to hear about aspects of its past. The 'Discover Launceston Priory' event was organised by the friends of the priory and included an exhibition at St Thomas's Church Hall where the visitors' book contained many complimentary comments. The Rev Jane Everitt is seen in the picture above at St Thomas Churchyard dedicating the remains of the Priors and Canons of the Augustinian Priory discovered during excavations on the site in 1888 and 1893. Also dedicated were the remains of those exhumed from the site of the medieval leper hospital at St Leonard's, Launceston, by the Time Team on March 24 1996.
