ST CATHERINE'S Church of England Primary and Nursery School, Launceston was delighted to welcome Daya for a practical Sikhism workshop on Monday, November 7. Daya, a practising Sikh faith and Indian culture educator, happily explained some key facts about her Sikh faith, and the children joined her in exploring how a trip to a Gurdwara would look and feel like. The Reception and Nursery children, and adults, were very excited to dress up in authentic Indian dress with some beautiful salvar kamees and matching chunni (scarves) for the girls, whilst the boys tried on kurta and turbans. They all then joined Daya in learning some Bhangra dancing and then more traditional Indian dancing.
