HANDBELL ringers are gearing up for another busy year following the successs of 2014.

It was a busy Christmas time for St Breward Handbell Ringers with the usual round of performances both in the village and outside. However, this past year has seen a growth in the team numbers, allowing the ringers to expand their repertoire, as well as making committed performances much easier to fulfil when sickness and unforeseen absences occur.

Highlights of the year included playing at venues in Par and St Blazey, the World War One exhibition opening in St Breward with specially rehearsed World War One music for the occasion, Wadebridge and Egloshayle Heritage weekend opening, as well as at the Lanhydrock House Christmas festivities in the church.

Numerous other performances in the village for special functions, included the 100 birthday celebration of resident Grace Masters, and a request to teach the village Brownies how to ring to enable them to perform carols on handbells in time for Christmas.

The handbell ringers continue to welcome new members. Practise nights are Mondays in St Breward Church from 7pm to 8pm, contact secretary Cathy Glaser on 01208 851744.
