OUTLINE plans including a new medical centre, up to 260 new homes and a scout hut at Bude have been submitted to Cornwall Council.
The outline application, with all matters reserved, is for the proposed development of up to 260 dwellings, public open space, allotments, scout hall, business/community hub, including community building, GP surgery and office space at land north of Stratton Road.
The application was submitted by South West Strategic Developments, Mrs Heard, Mr Heard and Mrs Hudson.
A planning statement submitted to Cornwall Council on behalf of the applicants states that the proposed development comprises new homes of varying types, including one and two-bedroom apartments, and two, three, four and five-bedroom houses, 30% to be designated affordable.
According to the planning statement, the proposed development also comprises a scout hall adjacent to the existing sports pitch, which will also serve as changing facilities for the adjacent sports pitch.
The statement continues: “The sports pitch will be upgraded and these improvements will be secured via S106 agreement.”
The plans also include a business/community focal point, which is designed to incorporate a ‘hot desk’-style office space, a further community building, which will potentially accommodate the town band, and a new medical centre.
The decision on the application will be taken by Cornwall Council.
