YOUNG people from 12 years of age are being invited to find out more about what the Army Cadet Force (ACF) in Holsworthy has to offer by attending an open evening at Holsworthy Community College.

The organisation, whose motto is ‘To inspire to achieve’, offers many opportunities for young people to develop new skills, improve confidence have fun and make new friends.

Uniform (not boots) is available on free loan and camps and other activities are subsidised by the British Army, making it a very inclusive hobby.

Cadets can access the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and all aspects of the expedition section can be completed through the ACF.

There is also free access to the Cadet BTec vocational cualification, which can equate to four GCSE passes for cadets of 16 years plus, and certificated First Aid training.

The open night on Monday, February 29 will run from 7pm to 9pm with young people of 12+ and parents welcome and an opportunity to view kit, chat to the cadets and instructors and join in with some basic training activities.
