A LATE goal from Matt Ford denied Bradworthy a rare away victory after an entertaining game at Pollyfield. Both sides created enough chances to win the game but both will feel a draw was a just result.
Shammy drew first blood when Gary Buck's threaded pass found Dean Tucker who was allowed far too much time and space to drill the ball into the far corner. It could have been different though with Carlo Chandler at the thick of the action in the Shammy box. Firstly he was harshly adjudged to have fouled stand-in 'keeper Gary Suggate as he spilt a high ball and later prodded a difficult chance wide after another slip from the 'keeper.
Chandler turned provider midway through the half though, cutting on to his left foot and delivering a cross to the far post where Luke Potter fantastically bought the ball down and rifled a left foot half volley into the back of the net to continue his fine goal scoring run. Chandler was denied by Suggate after he burst through one and one whilst Theo Snell was making his presence felt up front for Shammy carving himself a series of chances which he failed to take.
Within five minutes of the restart Brad could have been out of sight. Luke Potter and Gary Clarke worked a quick corner and Potter's bursting run and cross was narrowly headed over by Toby Curtis' instinctive flick. From the resulting goal kick Curtis won the header before slipping Liam Dart in but his driven cross come shot went wide of the far post. Brad' 'keeper Will Radford saved bravely at the feet of Tucker after a swift counter attacking move as chances became few and far between before Dart's header moved Brad' into a 2-1 lead. Potter was this time the provider, chipping a delicate ball into the box for the Brad' midfielder to beat 'keeper and defender to the ball and nod home.
It seemed Brad were going to hold out in a tense finale as defenders Tim Summers, Danny Bryant and the impenetrable Damian French stood resolute until Ford arrived to meet Snell's cross and volley past Radford. Cue a backs-to-the-wall performance from Brad for the final minutes as they held on to take a deserved point although Chandler had a chance to snatch all three as his long distance lob over a stranded 'keeper dropped inches wide.
