DEPUTY Prime Minister and Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg visited Camelford Leisure Centre on Monday, April 8 to hear how the local community reacted swiftly when funding was pulled from the centre.
He was told how the local action group not only campaigned for its future, but have "established a trust which is taking over the centre" and has raised money from other sources to keep it open.
Mr Clegg also heard how similar groups elsewhere in the country are now contacting the Camelford team to see just how they did it.
