PULLING together to prepare for the snow, the mayor of Holsworthy and town council handyman handed out bags of rock salt to the community last Thursday.

Mayor Cllr Jon Hutchings and handyman George Wilcox donned their cold weather clothes to stand out in Stanhope Park handing out rock salt to residents of Holsworthy ahead of the snow and wind brought by Storm Emma and the ‘Beast from the East’.

Some people were able to attend the event and collect their free bag but for those who were unable to leave their homes or carry the bag home, Cllr Hutchings acted as delivery man, driving to local homes to drop off a bag of rock salt.

A few bags were also donated to Holsworthy Medical Centre.
