DELI Farm run takes an exciting 4km route through beautiful pasture in Delabole, closely passing the famous windmills against the stunning backdrop of Cornwall’s countryside.

The weather co-operated magnificently on Saturday, May 19, for what was one of the warmest runs on record. The warm weather did not detract the competitors with an amazing turn out of over 220 runners — the record so far!

Lindsey Ubly from Delabole School organised this year’s event with support from the sponsors, Camelford Rotary Club. All local primary schools were well represented, competing to take home the prestigious Deli Farm Trophy! The event started at 10am with all competitors joining in an energetic aerobic warm-up to music, motivating them for the hot run ahead.

Competitors were cheered on throughout the morning as large numbers of friends and family turned out to support the run. Chris Lowe from Sir James Smith’s School was the fastest runner back and once all runners had returned, everybody indulged in delicious baked treats and refreshing drinks from the Friends of Delabole School.

A great deal of thanks must go to Mr and Mrs Edwards who have been hosting the event superbly for over 30 years — long may it continue!
