THIS year's Deli Farm Fun Run, organised by the Rotary Club of Camelford, celebrated its 25th event on Saturday, May 7.

The weather co-operated magnificently and the run was very well attended with 131 runners competing, of which 107 were children.

This longstanding local annual event encourages entrants from all the local primary schools to take part in the 2.1 mile fun run.

The eight schools that participated were Delabole, Boscastle, Camelford, St Tudy, Otterham, St Teath, St Kew and Tintagel CP Schools.

"This year we introduced two new categories," said Rotary Youth Chairman Rob Allingham. "Secondary school aged children (11-17-year-olds) and adult runners. The older competitors ran three miles.

"To make it even more fun we introduced prizes for the first three runners in each category and an overall school team prize of a £100, won this year by Camelford Primary, to use for their sports and outdoor programmes."

The Rotary Club also invited local businesses to be part of the event as sponsors of prizes and there was an was an excellent response making the day a real success. Some of the businesses and sponsors also took the opportunity to have a small trade stand on the race day, and thanks went to Mr Peter Edwards for his use of the venue.
