ST BREWARD'S Doctor's Surgery saw the retirement of their much loved and respected receptionist and dispenser, 61-year-old Barbara Tyson from Delabole, after 27 years working with the Camelford-based Medical Centre. She spent many of these years based at the St Breward Surgery.

Barbara originally joined the practice in 1982 as a part-time receptionist for Dr Newman in the Delabole Surgery. She soon moved onto the Camelford Surgery and, along with the practice's nurse Barbara Sadler, then moved to St Breward where she became the surgery's dispenser as well as receptionist and data administrator, working full time.

Her friend, former surgery nurse Barbara, returned to the village for the retirement luncheon, laid on by local villagers at the Methodist Chapel, to make the presentation.

She said: "Barbara's commitment and dedication in her roll has been second to none always doing her best to fulfil patients needs, when drugs were not available from one supplier sourcing them from elsewhere which I know is not an easy task.

"Her placid nature and ready smile has always won through. St Breward Surgery will miss you."

Amongst the many

village's wellwishers was the Medical Centre's Dr Andrew Garrod, the

village doctor.
