A concert by Johnny Cowling at Delabole Methodist Church raised a total of £512 for the Friends of Delabole School. The Delabole School Samba Band were the warm up act for Johnny Cowling who did a super selection of Elvis tracks, and he kept the crowd entertained with a variety of jokes. The samba band's musical director Kathryn Tiplady said she was very pleased with the band and said they performed the three pieces they had learnt very well, including the two solos by Otis Nethercot and Carys Lewin. The concert was the first time the samba band had worn their new uniform and everyone looked very smart.
