DELABOLE Football Club held its annual fun day back in September. Again blessed with fantastic weather, saw young and old enjoying what was on offer at the fun day — from a wonderful display put on by Delabole Fire Brigade to all the stalls and car boot and fun family games made up by the football fundraising committee (a small group of people who fundraise for club funds).

They had a stage of local musical talent, Kathryn Tiplady took along Camelford Youth band to show off their talents and then singing from Steve Alexander and to round the day off with the band 'Ed and the Blind Boys.'

An amount of over £900 was raised during the day, from the barbecue; fun games; raffle; guess the weight of the cake and how many sweets.

The Delabole Football Fundraising Committee have many people to thank for this day with all the help and support of kind people who give up their time to put the family event on.

As a result, this year, the football club decided to give a donation from the fun day to two village groups: the Delabole Fire Brigade — to say thank you for supporting the fun day over the years and for putting on a "really fantastic display." — and to, a new group, Delabole Youth Council.

This will go towards a skate and BMX park which is going to be set up in the playing fields in Delabole. The football club have given each of these clubs £150.

Elaine Reynolds, fundraising chairman, said: "This is the reason we do the fun day for the village to enjoy themselves and come together in a family orientated afternoon to raise money, not only for the club funds, but to give a little something back to say thank you."
