The Rev Jem Thorold took his last service at St John's Church, Delabole, on Sunday, August 23 before moving on to his new role. Jem arrived in the parish two years ago and took an active interest in community life in and around the Delabole and St Teath Parish. He will be moving on to becoming Priest-in-Charge of St Quethiock and St Lalluwy, Menheniot, with the Mission Church of St Mary the Virgin, Merrymeet (near Liskeard). Jem's licensing will take place on September 21 when he will then take up the new role. A spokesman for the church said: "Jem will be greatly missed for his contribution to village life his kindness and compassion shown to those who needed comfort and his thoughtfulness for others. The members of the St John's Church will not be alone in wishing Jem and his family every success and happiness in the challenges ahead."
