MEMBERS of the Launceston branch of the Royal British Legion met in the town square on Saturday to witness the dedication of the Garden of Remembrance at the foot of the war memorial by the Rev Jane Everitt. Rev Everitt has agreed to become the new branch chaplain, and laid the first poppy cross, followed by branch chairman John Knights. The branch would like to invite the local community to observe the two minutes’ silence at the memorial on Friday, November 11 at 11am, and the parade and service of remembrance will take place on Sunday, November 13, commencing at 11am in the square.
