MORE than 25 past and present members of the National Coastwatch Inst­itution Boscastle met to celebrate the organisation's 10th anniversary.

They were joined at the lookout by National Chairman of the National Coastwatch Institution (NCI) Alan Richards and representatives from HM Coastguard in Falmouth and Boscastle at the lookout, and later enjoyed a summer barbecue at Mayrose Farm, Helstone.

The original members met at a public meeting in Boscastle Community Centre in 2002, initiated by the NCI in response to concern that there was no visual cover on this stretch of coast, as the old lookout had been closed for ten years and all the windows were bricked up.
